Echo of Time

Echo of Time

Corten Steel / 500 x 500 x 300 cm / 2026

A circular arrangement of steel monoliths standing guard in the landscape. "Echo of Time" interacts with the sun, acting as a primitive clock and a sanctuary for silence.

Technical Details

Twelve columns of Corten steel. This material naturally oxidizes to form a protective rust coating that changes color with the rain and sun. Engineered to withstand high wind loads.

The Process

Fabricated in an industrial shipyard, these hollow forms were welded and then transported to the site. The installation required deep concrete footings. The orientation is aligned with the solstices.

Artist's Note

"A circle has no beginning. This space is meant to be entered, to be walked within. It isolates the viewer from the horizon, forcing the gaze upward to the sky."
