Technical Details
Honey Onyx sourced from Mexico. This stone is semi-precious and extremely fragile. The sculpture
sits on a hidden internal light source (optional) to enhance its translucency.
The Process
Carving onyx requires water-cooling at every stage to prevent heat fractures. The final shape was
polished with diamond paste to achieve a glass-like surface that reveals the internal
crystalline layers.
Artist's Note
"Matter is mostly empty space. This stone feels solid, but light passes through it as if it were
air. It is a reminder that reality is not always as dense as it appears."
